Also, this was in Avernum: Escape from the Pit. Wow, consider myself mistaken! I'm sorry - I was sure that my characters got more exp if one of them died in a battle but I haven't done elaborate tests to make sure of that. Or kill 100 mobs and do 10 quests and have 4 guys at level 5. You chose, do You want to kill 100 mobs and do 10 quests and have 1 guy at level 5. There is no such thing as create 1 character and therefore You will exp faster. (also deleted my main to have an all level 1 party, they all got 400 exp)Ĭonclusion: The amount of exp You get from quests and monsters, is determined by Your level, doesnt matter how many characters You have in a party, there is no experience distribution. They got all 400 exp, and the main char got between 272-287 again. I did the same thing with a 3 additional members all level 1. if not creating a solo character as You mentioned to make a "fast exping character" was kinda a waste of effort and an misguided advice pĮdit: And I tested getting exp from a quest just now, completing the same quest solo (5 times in a row (save/load), gave me 272-287 exp, for whatever reason the exp from a quest is random like that. I really do hope the exp is split at some point, as in quests or something. I created a 1 member party and killed the two starter tutorial creatures, he also got 12 experience points per kill (aka 24 exp in total). I made a simple test now, created a new game with 4 party members, killed the two first tutorial creatures, everyone got 12 experience per kill (24 experience total, everyone got it, it wasnt split). I'm not sure whether the quest XP is also scaled by the character level, but I think it is divided among the party members. The received XP is scaled by how easy or difficult the killed mobs were. Then the solo character would receive less XP. In your experiment, was the solo character on the same level as the party you quickly created? Newly created characters are usually lvl 1, while you might have already leveled the solo character before. Because then the lower level ones get a slightly larger share. I'm not exactly sure how it works If the characters are of different levels. Originally posted by Twistor:Yes, I'm sure.
